New Member Orientation

All new members are required to attend an orientation program designed to build awareness of the requirements of the REALTOR® Code of Ethics, professional standards, pathways to professionalism, risk management, fair housing in addition to member resources and benefits. This requirement is mandatory for all new members, and membership is provisional until this requirement has been met.  For members transferring from another Board who have completed orientation and maintained a practice, this orientation is optional. For new members who have been a member of a local board/association in the past but left the industry for a year or more, orientation is mandatory.

This requirement must be met within 60 days of application or by the next in-person orientation, whichever is longer.

New Member Orientation, Fair Housing, and Code of Ethics Training is offered in person at SCAR headquarters once every quarter. The dates can be found on this website’s calendar. If you are unable to attend the next in-person training, you must complete the online New Member Orientation, the New Member Code of Ethics training, AND the Fairhaven 2.0 Course.
