75-hr Pre-Licensure Classroom Course 

Launch your real estate career with this New Jersey Real Estate Salesperson Pre-Licensing Course, held Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. over two consecutive weeks at the Sussex County Association of REALTORS®, home of the Tri-State Business Academy. This comprehensive program fulfills the state-required 75 hours of instruction, covering New Jersey real estate law, ethics, contracts, agency, fair housing, and essential industry practices. Full-price tuition includes all required textbooks, the final exam, and the complete 75 hours of classroom instruction, providing an immersive, structured learning experience designed to prepare students for both the state licensing exam and a successful start in the real estate profession.

Real Estate Salesperson Licensing Requirements

Course Prerequisites:

  • Must be 17 years of age (Applicant must be 18 years of age to take the state exam and apply for their real estate license)
  • A citizen of the United States or here legally with proof you are legally allowed to work in the U.S.
  • Have a high school education or equivalent certification
  • The absence of any convictions for forgery, burglary, robbery, any theft offense other than shoplifting, criminal conspiracy to defraud, or other like offenses within the five years (5) preceding the application for a license. Click here for more info.
  • Attend 80% of the 75-Hour Course Achieve a passing grade of 70% to receive a certification of satisfactory competition.
  • Provide response to “screening questions” that relate to the statutory qualifications to receive a real estate license.

After successfully completing the 75-hour Pre-License Course and passing the examination the applicant must apply for a license through a sponsoring real estate broker. Application for a real estate license must be submitted to the New Jersey Real Estate Commission within one year of the date when the candidate successfully completes the 75-hour pre-licensure course, otherwise, the course must be taken again.

*50 cancellation fee for disenrollment up to 48 hours prior to class start; after which no refunds will be given for any reason. Tuition will be refunded if the class is cancelled or full. We reserve the right to cancel a course due to insufficient enrollment.*
